Building a smarter planet
This morning the chairman of my company, Sam Palmisano gave a historic speech at the Council on Foreign Relations about a new strategy for IBM -- building a smarter planet.
I've been at IBM for about nine years and I have to say, this is the most optimistic (and yet grounded) material I've seen about the direction of our company. It's hopeful without being unrealistic; it recognizes that the world is on the brink of major change; it makes me feel really good about working at a company like ours.
It's ambitious on a societal level. Ultimately, this is the reason I came to IBM. to work on projects like this.
And so I'm sharing this with you and hoping you will feel moved too.
There are also some videos we posted on YouTube that talk about progress. Because making a smarter world is all about making progress.
