Missed Connections, the album (or The Sycophant's Field Guide)

I'm sure it's been done before, but as I'm thinking about potential themes for my next musical project, it occurred to me to look at the Craigslist missed connections section in NY. What a stunning set of stories there. I'd had an idea to do an album that was, more or less a mix tape -- each song written by a different fictitious band. But this might be better -- or maybe I find my characters here. Read this one. So sad and elegant. Or this one. Cuts to the quick.

In the early nineties my friends and I would steal lighters at parties all the time. To the point that it kind of became a game. We all were smokers at the time. I was pretty good at this game. So if you and I were hanging out then and you were a smoker, I probably nicked your lighter. Maybe even more than once. So, um, sorry about that.
