I dreamt last night that I had to saw off my own left leg, mid-calf. Any interpretations?

You put your foot in your mouth one too many times, I guess.
A wild animal caught in a leg hold trap will gnaw off it's own leg to escape the otherwise hopelessly unescapeable... do you see any parallels here? In otherwords, what price freedom? ? ? No charge for interpretation, giggle.
